Oryzias latipes (JAPANESE MEDAKA) AS GENETIC MODEL TO STUDY CAUSATIVE GENES OF EPILEPSY DISEASE: AN IN-SILICO APPROACH

چکیده

Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder that has affected around 50-70 million people worldwide. Various animal models have previously been used in epilepsy research. To expand the knowledge of disease, new model suggested to be explored considering genetic and phenotypic heterogeneity contributes complexity disease. This study was undertaken analyze 14 causative genes disease Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes), humans, established this which zebrafish (Danio rerio) by assessing variation using MEGA X predicting functional motif secondary structure proteins PROSITE GORIV respectively. Results from analysis showed lowest percentage conserved 60%.50% were found more than comparison human. The motifs present all same humans. All structures predicted contain alpha helix, extended strand, random coil. In conclusion, it can inferred could reliable for

The Japanese medaka, Oryzias latipes, as a new model organism for studying environmental germ-cell mutagenesis.

The effects of genotoxic substances on ecosystems should be assessed using various test systems with multiple genetic end points. The most widely used test system has been the specific-locus test developed by W.L. Russell, using the mouse. We are developing a new, nonmammalian test system using the Japanese medaka, Oryzias latipes. We have examined 625,926 embryos that correspond to 1,586,649 l...

A reproductive toxicology study of phenanthrene in medaka (Oryzias latipes).

Environmental contaminants, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), can disrupt the endocrine system and affect reproductive function of humans and wildlife. In this study, we exposed Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) to water-borne or food-spiked phenanthrene, an ubiquitous PAH, and investigated the chronic effects of the chemical on medaka reproduction. The results showed that phenan...

Betanodavirus infection in the freshwater model fish medaka (Oryzias latipes).

Betanodaviruses, the causal agents of viral nervous necrosis in marine fish, have bipartite, positive-sense RNA genomes. As their genomes are the smallest and simplest among viruses, betanodaviruses have been studied in detail as model viruses by using a genetic-engineering system, as has occurred with the insect alphanodaviruses, the other members of the family Nodaviridae. However, studies of...

Expression of guanylyl cyclase genes in medaka hybrids (Oryzias curvinotus x Oryzias latipes).

The Hong Kong-originated medaka fish Oryzias curvinotus expresses nine genes (OcGC1 approximately OcGC8 and OcGC-R2) for membrane guanylyl cyclases (membrane GCs) and three genes (OcGCS-alpha(1), OcGCS-alpha(2), and OcGCS-beta(1)) for soluble GC subunits. The deduced amino acid sequences of membrane GCs expressed in O. curvinotus were quite similar to those expressed in the Japanese medaka Oryz...
